1.32

○今當開章為十：一、大意，二、釋名，三、體相，四、攝法，五、偏圓，六、方便，七、正觀，八、果報，九、起教，十、旨歸。十是數方，不多不少。始則標期在茶，終則歸宗至極，善始令終總在十章中矣。

Now I shall open the chapters into ten: first, the Great Meaning; second, Explaining the Name; third, Substance and Characteristics; fourth, Encompassing Phenomena; fifth, Biased and Perfect; sixth, Expedient Means; seventh, Correct Contemplation; eighth, Fruition Retribution; ninth, Raising the Teaching; and tenth, Ultimate Intent. Ten is a complete number, neither too many nor too few. In the beginning, the goal is marked at the start; in the end, the lineage returns to the ultimate; a wholesome beginning and a good end are entirely contained within the ten chapters.
