From where does such view-wisdom emerge? It is because within dhyāna there is the contemplation factor. The contemplation factor is a mental factor of wisdom; it contemplates all phenomena unchecked without knowing when to stop itself, like a swift horse drenched in sweat that cannot be reined in. If people who listen to lectures have no dhyāna to moisten their views, as soon as they wish to discriminate, they often vomit blood from their intestines, thereby terminating their lives, and the view is ultimately not accomplished. If the power of samādhi moistens contemplation, though unchecked and hard to restrain, it does not lead to vomiting blood from the intestines, and often succeeds in forming a view.
