2.110

淨名云：「我念聲聞，不觀人根，不應說法。」二乘不觀，尚自差機；況汝盲瞑，無目師心者乎？自是違經，不當機理，何其愚惑，頓至於此！若見有人不識機宜，行說此者則戒海死屍；宜依律擯治，無令毒樹生長者宅（云云）。

The Vimalakīrtinirdeśa says: 'I reflect that śrāvakas, by not discerning people's faculties, should not teach the Dharma.' If even those of the two vehicles fail to discern faculties and thus miss the mark of capacity, how much more so for you, blind and sightless, following your own willful mind? You naturally contradict the sūtras and do not accord with capacity or principle; how could your foolish confusion have reached such an extreme all at once! If you see anyone who, failing to recognize capacity and suitability, practices and teaches this, they are a dead corpse in the ocean of precepts; they should be expelled and dealt with according to the Vinaya, so as not to allow a poisonous tree to grow in the house of an elder (and so on).
