3.235

若就諦論接者，通教真諦，空、中合論；從初已來，但觀真中之空。破見思惑盡到第八地，方為說真內之中。故云：「智者見空及與不空。」被接方聞，聞已見理，即是入別位也。

If we discuss connection in terms of truths: in the absolute truth of the shared teaching, emptiness and the middle are discussed together; from the beginning onward, one merely contemplates emptiness within the absolute. When one has completely destroyed the delusions of view and thought and reached the eighth stage, only then is the middle within the absolute expounded for them. Hence it is said: 'The wise see emptiness as well as non-emptiness.' Only upon being connected do they hear it, and having heard it, they see principle; this is entering the stages of the distinctive.
