3.45

此三止名雖未見經論，映望三觀，隨義立名。《釋論》云：「菩薩依隨經教，為作名字，名為法施。」立名無咎。若能尋經得名，即懸合此義也。詳此三止，與前釋名，名髣髴同，其相則異。

Although the names of these three calmings are not seen in the sūtras or treatises, they reflect the three contemplations, and their names are established according to their meanings. The Expository Treatise says: 'A bodhisattva, in accordance with the scriptures and teachings, devises names for them, which is called the gift of the Dharma.' Establishing names is without fault. If one can search the sūtras and find the names, they will covertly tally with this meaning. Examining these three calmings in comparison with the previous explanation of the names, their names are vaguely similar, but their characteristics are different.
