3.48

如體真止時，達因緣假名，空無主，流動惡息，是名止息義；停心在理，正是達於因緣，是停止義；此理即真，真即本源，本源不當止與不止，是非止止。此三義共成體真止相。

As in the calming of realizing the true: understanding that causes and conditions are provisional designations, empty and without master, so that flowing evil ceases—this is the meaning of ceasing; resting the mind on principle is precisely understanding causes and conditions—this is the meaning of resting; this principle is the true, and the true is the fundamental source, which fundamentally is not a matter of calming or not calming—this is non-calming calming. These three meanings together constitute the characteristic of the calming of realizing the true.
