4.162

《十住毘婆沙》云：「若人放逸者，諸蓋則覆心；生天猶尚難，何況於得果？若人勤精進，則能裂諸蓋；諸蓋既裂已，諸願悉皆得。」是名依事法棄蓋也。

The Daśabhūmika-vibhāṣā states: "If a person is heedless, the hindrances will cover their mind; rebirth in heaven is already difficult, how much more so the attainment of the fruits? If a person is diligent and energetic, they can tear through the hindrances; once the hindrances are torn through, all vows are fulfilled." This is called discarding the hindrances based on phenomenal practices.
