答：前三道未合，可得分張橫辯；即中既融，宜約一道竪判。又亦得約橫者，別接通、別、圓三品（云云）。如此分別得失輕重，遍詮量法界，豈止煮燒覆障耶？

Answer: The previous three paths were not yet unified, so they could be distinguished and discussed horizontally; since being identical to the middle is already blended, it is fitting to classify it vertically based on a single path. Moreover, one may also take the horizontal, where the distinctive receives the shared, the distinctive, and the perfect as three grades (and so forth). Discerning gain and loss, light and heavy in this way, everywhere evaluating the dharmadhātu, how could it be limited to boiling, burning, covering, and obstructing?
