4.85

八、守護正法者，昔護見不令他破，方便申通；今護三諦諸空，不令見破。若有留滯，善巧申弘；亡身存法，猶如父母守護其子。此翻破毀善事也。

Eighth, guarding the true Dharma: formerly one guarded views so that others could not shatter them, using skillful means to expound and propagate them; now one guards the various emptinesses of the three truths so that views cannot shatter them. If there is any stagnation, one skillfully expounds and disseminates them, sacrificing the body to preserve the Dharma, just as parents protect their child. This overturns and shatters the destruction of good deeds.
