Vasubandhu and Nāgārjuna clearly reflected within and accommodated what was appropriate without, each relying on an expedient basis. Yet human masters have one-sided understandings, and learners obstinately cling, eventually unleashing arrows and stones, each defending a single side, greatly straying from the noble path. If one grasps this intent, all are unspeakable, and all are speakable. If one follows what is opportune, one should say that the factor of avidyā and dharmatā produces all phenomena, just as the factor of sleep and the mind give rise to all dream events. When the mind combines with conditions, the three kinds of worlds and the three thousand characteristics and natures all arise from the mind. The one nature, although small, is not non-existent; avidyā, although manifold, is not existent. Why? Pointing to the one as the many, the many is not many; pointing to the many as the one, the one is not small. Therefore, this mind is called the inconceivable realm. If one understands that one mind is all minds, all minds are one mind, neither one nor all; one aggregate is all aggregates, all aggregates are one aggregate, neither one nor all; one sense-base is all sense-bases, all sense-bases are one sense-base, neither one nor all; one realm is all realms, all realms are one realm, neither one nor all; one sentient being is all sentient beings, all sentient beings are one sentient being, neither one nor all; one land is all lands, all lands are one land, neither one nor all; one characteristic is all characteristics, all characteristics are one characteristic, neither one nor all; up to one ultimate is all ultimates, all ultimates are one ultimate, neither one nor all. Traversing all phenomena without exception, all are the inconceivable realm.
