Now, one should realize that all inversions are themselves dharmatā, neither identical nor different. Although inversions arise and perish like a whirling firebrand, one does not believe in the arising and perishing of inversions, but only believes that this mind is simply dharmatā. Arising is the arising of dharmatā; perishing is the perishing of dharmatā. One realizes that in reality there is neither arising nor perishing, and that it is falsely called arising and perishing; pointing directly to the fact that all false thoughts are dharmatā, one binds dharmatā with dharmatā, contemplates dharmatā with dharmatā, and it is constantly dharmatā, with no time that is not dharmatā. When this realization is completed, one can grasp neither false thoughts nor dharmatā. Returning to the source and reverting to the root, the dharmadhātu is entirely quiescent; this is called 'calming'. When calming is practiced in this way, all the aforesaid cyclic wanderings are halted.
