前見、思、塵沙久已穿徹，唯二觀智，即喻金剛。觀破智障，名「觀穿觀」；安心此理，名「觀達觀」。此理不可思議，名「第一義空」。待二乘頑境之空，名為「智慧」，而此法性非智非不智，是為中觀。具三義也。

The former [delusions of] view, thought, and dust and sand have long been penetrated; only the wisdom of the two contemplations remains, which is likened to vajra. Contemplating and breaking the obstruction of wisdom is called 'contemplation piercing through contemplation'; pacifying the mind in this principle is called 'contemplation reaching contemplation'. This principle is inconceivable and is called 'the emptiness of primary meaning'. In contrast to the emptiness of the blunt object of the two vehicles, it is called 'wisdom'; yet this dharmatā is neither wisdom nor non-wisdom; this is the middle contemplation. It is endowed with three meanings.
