答：後觀悉入位，方修假、中，故約位判三根淺深。初觀始於凡地，無位可判淺深。又《瓔珞》亦有文云四地名須陀洹，此應是下根；又三地明須陀洹，此應是中根；或初地明須陀洹，此語上根（云云）。

Answer: For the subsequent contemplations, one enters stages before practicing the provisional and the middle; hence, the shallowness or depth of the three faculties is classified in terms of stages. The initial contemplation begins at the ordinary stage, where there are no stages by which to classify shallowness and depth. Furthermore, the Yingluo jing also has a text saying that the fourth bhūmi is called srotāpanna, which should refer to lower faculties; also that the third bhūmi explains srotāpanna, which should refer to medium faculties; or that the first bhūmi explains srotāpanna, which speaks of superior faculties, and so on.
