If the six sense faculties do not receive the six dusts, this accords with the factors of equanimity and elimination among the factors of the Way; this is the perfection of giving subduing the sense faculties. If the six sense faculties are not harmed by the six dusts, this accords with right action, right speech, and right livelihood of the factors of the Way; this is the perfection of precepts subduing the sense faculties. If one remains patiently unmoved in the face of disagreeable six dusts, this accords with the four kinds of mindfulness among the factors of the Way; this is the perfection of patience subduing the sense faculties. If one guards the faculties and dusts, constantly without indolence, this accords with the eight kinds of diligence among the factors of the Way; this is the perfection of diligence subduing the sense faculties. If the concentrated mind is undisturbed, not deluded by the six dusts, this accords with the eight kinds of concentration among the factors of the Way; this is the perfection of meditation subduing the sense faculties. If one knows the six dusts are impermanent, suffering, empty, and tranquil, this accords with the ten kinds of wisdom among the factors of the Way; this is the perfection of wisdom subduing the sense faculties. This is the Tripiṭaka subduing the sense faculties to fulfill the six perfections.
