7.13

若作如此論通塞者，次第竪論六地、初地，動經劫數塞乃得通。《大經》云：「須陀洹者八萬劫到，乃至支佛十千劫到。」到菩薩初發心住。此論聖位，何益初心行人者乎？

If one discusses obstruction and opening in this way, vertically discussing in sequence the sixth stage and the first stage, it takes countless kalpas for obstruction to become open. The Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says: "A srotāpanna arrives after eighty thousand kalpas... up to a pratyekabuddha arriving after ten thousand kalpas." They arrive at the bodhisattva's stage of initial resolve (the first abidance). This discusses holy stages; what benefit does it offer to beginning practitioners?
