If toward no-obstruction and no-opening one gives rise to suffering, origination, avidyā, and veiling hindrances, one will not only lose supernormal powers, but also lose the horse and walking on foot. The subjective breaker is like the object broken; characters become non-characters, just like that track of a worm accidentally forming the name "three contemplations," where the worm does not know whether this is a character or not a character. If in each and every dharma, each and every subjective capacity, and each and every objective realm, all are precisely empty, precisely provisional, and precisely the middle, replete with truths, links, and perfections, this is called no-opening and no-obstruction, illuminating both opening and obstruction. This is the wise person knowing characters and non-characters; it is also called the skilled physician knowing gain and knowing loss. One who clearly recognizes obstruction and opening at the gate of non-arising does so likewise at the other Dharma gates. This is the beginner surpassing five hundred yojanas; the meaning of the six identities should be explained (and so forth).
