7.37

而《毘婆沙》云：「若八正在七覺後，亦得是有漏，亦得是無漏。」何以故？依八正入見諦，即是亦無漏；「若八正在七覺前，一向是無漏。」此則可解。引《婆沙》文證成二意。又亦漏無漏即是對位意也。

However, the Mahāvibhāṣā says: “If the eight noble [factors] follow the seven limbs of awakening, they can be defiled and can also be undefiled.” Why? Because relying on the eight noble [factors] to enter into seeing the truths, they are also undefiled. “If the eight noble [factors] precede the seven limbs of awakening, they are consistently undefiled.” This then can be understood. Citing the text of the Vibhāṣā proves the two meanings. Furthermore, being both defiled and undefiled corresponds to the meaning of their ranks.
