The Dharma-medicines for curing the inversions are four in number; the wisdom of contemplating the dharmatā is called “mindfulness” (smṛti); the single truth and the three truths are called “abode” (upasthāna). When all is identical to emptiness, the various inversions, flourishing, and withering are all empty and tranquil; when all is identical to the provisional, the twin trees of the two extremes are all established; when all is identical to the middle, there is nothing that is not the dharmadhātu. Just a single thought-moment of the mind is as vast and far-reaching as this. If one can deeply contemplate the smṛtyupasthānas, this is sitting at the bodhimaṇḍa, this is the Mahāyāna, this is entering parinirvāṇa between the twin trees; complete from beginning to end, one does not need to cultivate other dharmas further. If one does not enter, one should investigate the remaining factors further.
