Such emptiness is animitta, apraṇihita, and all dharmas; all dharmas are likewise so. One should know that a single gate of liberation is the three gates of liberation; the three gates of liberation are a single gate. Furthermore, within the four gates one cultivates all three liberations, without mutual obstruction. These three gates are non-gradual in meaning. Although in the distinctive [teaching] they are gradual, both rely on true reality. Again, it differs from the shared teaching, for the shared relies on the principle of emptiness. It also differs from the Tripiṭaka, for the Tripiṭaka relies on the wisdom of the four truths. Therefore, one should know that the three liberations and the factors of the path differ stage by stage; one must understand them well.
