7.89

若如上修而不入者，或非其宜，當自思惟：理觀之中具四念處、慧根、慧力、擇、喜覺分、正見、正思惟如是十法，智度所攝。此是理觀，此解不明，由於二世愚癡迷僻，昏覆精神，故令三昧不顯。應當改革，發大誓願，令事觀明了，破四顛倒。諦觀此身從頭至足但是種子不淨，乃至究竟五種不淨。

If one practices as above and still does not enter, perhaps it was not appropriate; one should reflect: within noumenal contemplation there are ten dharmas: the four smṛtyupasthānas, the faculty of wisdom, the power of wisdom, investigation, the bodhi-limb of joy, right view, and right intention; these are subsumed under the pāramitā of wisdom. This is noumenal contemplation; that this understanding is not clear is due to the ignorance, delusion, and perversity of two lifetimes, dimly covering the spirit, thereby preventing samādhi from manifesting. One should reform and make a great vow, making phenomenal contemplation clear to break the four inversions. One should closely contemplate this body from head to foot as being impure in its seeds, and so on, up to the ultimate five kinds of impurity.
