If one realizes that impermanence surpasses torrential waters, fierce winds, lightning bolts, mountains and oceans, or an empty market, with nowhere to flee or hide; having contemplated in this way, great fear arises in the mind, one's sleep finds no rest on the mat, food has no sweetness in the mouth, like putting out a fire on one's head. The white colt and the sun and moon race day and night to seek an escape; how could one again be greedy for worldly wealth, construct the realms of existence, engage in useless tasks, and create the karma of birth and death? One immediately cuts off fetters and goes straight ahead aloofly, like a jackal breaking through, vying to escape the burning house, seeking early deliverance. This is shattering the inversion of permanence.
