8.112

夫世間醫藥費財用工，又苦澁難服，多諸禁忌，將養惜命者死計將餌。今無一文之費，不廢半日之功，無苦口之憂，恣意飲噉，而人皆不肯行之。庸者不別貨，韻高和寡，吾甚傷之！

Now, worldly medicine wastes wealth and consumes labor, and is bitter, astringent, and hard to take, having many taboos; those who care for their health and cherish their lives desperately ingest it. Now, with no expense of a single coin, without wasting half a day's labor, without the worry of bitterness in the mouth, and drinking and eating at will, people nevertheless are all unwilling to practice it. The vulgar do not distinguish valuable goods; high melodies find few to join in; I am deeply grieved by this!
