8.172

助道對治者：當念應佛三十二相等，念報佛無量功德，共破習因惡業。念法門佛，破習因；念三十二相，破報果（云云）。念法門佛，助破報果惡業。念佛力故，惡業障轉，則入涅槃門也。

As for auxiliary remedies: one should be mindful of the thirty-two marks of the response Buddha and the like, and be mindful of the immeasurable virtues of the reward Buddha, together destroying the evil karma of habitual causes. Being mindful of the Dharma-gate Buddha destroys habitual causes; being mindful of the thirty-two marks destroys retributive fruits (and so forth). Being mindful of the Dharma-gate Buddha assists in destroying the evil karma of retributive fruits. Due to the power of mindfulness of the Buddha, hindrances of evil karma are transformed, and one enters the gate of nirvāṇa.
