9.101

復次，十二緣對《法華》中十如者：如是性對無明，《淨名》云：「若知無明性即是明性。」如是相對行；體對識等七支；力對愛、取；作對有因，又是無明、愛、取之習因；緣對行、有；果對無明生智慧習果；報對行、有五種涅槃；本對三道三種佛性；末對三德涅槃。

Furthermore, matching the twelve links of dependent origination to the ten suchnesses in the Lotus Sūtra: 'such nature' corresponds to ignorance, as the Vimalakīrti Sūtra says, 'If one knows the nature of ignorance, it is itself the nature of illumination'; 'such characteristic' corresponds to action; 'substance' corresponds to the seven links from consciousness onward; 'power' corresponds to craving and grasping; 'function' corresponds to the cause of becoming, and is also the habitual cause of ignorance, craving, and grasping; 'condition' corresponds to action and becoming; 'effect' corresponds to the habitual effect of wisdom born from ignorance; 'retribution' corresponds to the five kinds of nirvāṇa of action and becoming; 'root' corresponds to the three paths and three kinds of Buddha-nature; 'branch' corresponds to the three virtues of nirvāṇa.
