In contemplating karma, the heaviest does not exceed the five heinous sins. The five heinous sins are themselves bodhi; bodhi and the five heinous sins are without two marks. There is no perceiver, no knower, and no distinguisher. The marks of heinous transgressions and the marks of true reality are all inconceivable, indestructible, and originally without intrinsic nature. All karmic conditions abide in the limit of reality, neither coming nor going, neither cause nor fruit. This is contemplation of karma as the seal of the dharmadhātu. The seal of the dharmadhātu cannot be destroyed by the four Māras; Māra can find no opening. Why is this? Māra is itself the seal of the dharmadhātu; how could the seal of the dharmadhātu destroy the seal of the dharmadhātu? Applying this meaning across all phenomena, it should likewise be understood. What has been expounded above is entirely the text of the sūtras.
