Further, contemplate: "Shall I attain the Buddha through mind, or attain the Buddha through the body?" The Buddha is not to be attained through mind, nor through the body. Do not attain the Buddha's form through mind; do not attain the Buddha's mind through form. Why is this? As for mind, the Buddha has no mind; as for form, the Buddha has no form; therefore one does not attain sambodhi through form or mind. The Buddha's form is already exhausted, up to consciousness is already exhausted. What the Buddha explains as exhausted, foolish people do not know, but the wise clearly understand. One does not attain the Buddha through body and mouth, nor through wisdom. Why is this? Wisdom, sought for, cannot be found; seeking a "self" on one's own, it is completely unfindable, and there is nothing seen either. All phenomena are fundamentally non-existent, destroying the root and severing the root (number one).
