Regarding exhorting cultivation: that all Buddhas attained the path was entirely due to this Dharma; it is the parent of the Buddhas, the supreme great jewel in the world. If one can cultivate it, one obtains the full portion of the jewel; if one can merely read and recite it, one obtains the middle portion of the jewel; offering flowers and incense, one obtains the lower portion of the jewel. What the Buddha and Mañjuśrī stated regarding the lower portion of the jewel could not be exhausted, let alone the middle and upper portions! If one were to pile up jewels from the earth up to the Brahmā heaven to present to the Buddha, it would not compare to giving a single meal to sustain the body of one who upholds this sūtra, as the sūtra explains at length (and so forth).
