5.9

Countless karma is beyond reckoning; scattered good is weak and unable to stir it. Now cultivating calming and contemplation, strong and healthy without defect, one stirs the wheel of birth and death. It may be stirred because good is sprouting, or because evil is breaking down; it may be stirred because good shows the receipt of retribution, or because evil comes demanding retribution. Therefore, following illness, karma is expounded.
