如是推撿，尚不見正貪欲非生非不生，況復見生？雖復不起，惑既未斷，但是暫息及緣境謝，名貪欲已。防後起故，故須更推。若謂此心為無生者，謬之甚矣。為當：

Investigating and examining in this way, one does not even find actual lust to neither arise nor not arise, how much less does one see it arise? Although it does not arise again, since delusion has not yet been severed, it has merely paused temporarily and its conditioned object has passed away; this is called 'past lust'.
