Next, explaining the appearance of the signs of the six blockages: under stinginess, chuo (惙) means weary; gou (詬) (with the three phonetic glosses xu-gou, hu-gou, ju-hou) means disgrace and humiliation. Next, in explaining the violation of precepts, it raises solely the characteristics of the seven branches of natural precepts; the proscriptive precepts are not of one kind, so one instance of alcohol is briefly raised to generalize all proscriptions. Anger leads to killing, greed leads to sexual misconduct; these two together with stealing and the four faults of speech constitute the seven branches. If the faults of speech are treated as a single falsehood, these are the five precepts. Furthermore, from "inner mind" onward, it briefly adduces the characteristics of the habitual causes of the four divisions, leaving the rest undiscussed.
