The third is mindfulness (smṛti). Being mindful that the world is deceptive and contemptible, and being mindful that dhyāna-concentration is venerable and precious. If one attains dhyāna-concentration, one will be able to fully develop all untainted wisdom and all powers of spiritual penetration and the path, realize equal and perfect enlightenment, and broadly deliver sentient beings. This is precious, and therefore it is called mindfulness.
