If practitioners of the three vehicles enter this samādhi and cultivate all Dharma gates completely, then such phenomena as contemplative absorptions will become increasingly profound, bright, and sharp, and they will further bring forth hundreds of thousands of samādhis; with their merit becoming profound and solid, and their supernormal faculties fierce and sharp, it is therefore called contemplative dhyāna. There is also smelted dhyāna and mastery absorption. Smelted dhyāna is as explained above. As for mastery absorption, one exits, enters, and abides in all Dharma gates with mastery, and in transformation beholds the eight masteries. It is also called summit dhyāna, the most exalted and supreme among all dhyānas, being able to transform lifespan into merit and transform merit into lifespan; hence it is also named the Buddha-wisdom samādhi, knowing things of the three times immediately according to one's wish, subsumed in two places: namely, the desire realm and the fourth dhyāna. Furthermore, there is arana-samādhi, which causes no dispute to arise in others' minds; it is subsumed in five places: the desire realm and the four dhyānas. Furthermore, there are the four analytical knowledges: the analytical knowledges of phenomena and language are subsumed in two places, namely, the desire realm and the first dhyāna; the analytical knowledges of meaning and delight in explanation are subsumed in nine stages, namely, the desire realm, the four dhyānas, and the formless absorptions. Furthermore, there are the five supernormal knowledges, the fourteen transformational minds, and the eighteen transformations, all as explained previously.
