When the practitioner cultivates this liberation of the cessation of perception and sensation, they must extinguish the aggregates, realms, and entrances of neither-perception, as well as all mental concomitants. How are they extinguished? Although in neither-perception there are no coarse afflictions, it is fully equipped with four aggregates, two entrances, three realms, and ten kinds of subtle mental concomitants: namely, first, sensation; second, perception; third, volition; fourth, contact; fifth, attention; sixth, desire; seventh, resolve; eighth, mindfulness; ninth, concentration; and tenth, prajñā. What is sensation? That is, sensation of consciousness. What is perception? That is, perception of consciousness. What is volition? That is, volition of dharmas. What is contact? That is, contact of the mind. What is attention? That is, attention to dharmas. What is desire? That is, entering and emerging from absorption. What is resolve? That is, resolve toward dharmas. What is mindfulness? That is, mindfulness of samādhi. What is concentration? That is, the mind abiding according to the Dharma. What is prajñā? That is, the faculty of prajñā.
