八者、遣使得戒，即半迦尸女，有好善容，評堪半迦尸國，為人欲抄斷故，令遣使僧中代受戒，後還尼寺為其受戒。

8. Obtaining the precepts by sending an emissary: this refers to the woman Ardha-Kāśī. She possessed a fine and pleasing appearance, rated as worthy of half the kingdom of Kāśī; because people wished to obstruct and seize her, she was allowed to send an emissary among the saṅgha to receive the precepts on her behalf, and afterwards returned to the nunnery to receive the precepts for her.
