3.140

三、自有行人安心事止，具發事理禪定，謂根本四禪、四無量心、四無色定、九想、背捨、勝處、一切處等事中諸禪三昧，空、無相、無作、三十七品、四諦、十二因緣等慧行理中諸禪三昧，乃至特勝、通明皆屬事理禪定。

Third, there are practitioners who settle their minds in phenomenal cessation, and fully give rise to dhyāna absorptions of both phenomena and principle, namely the various dhyānas and samādhis within phenomena such as the root four dhyānas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the nine notions, liberations, stations of mastery, totality spheres, and the various dhyānas and samādhis within principle in the practice of wisdom such as emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the thirty-seven aids to awakening, the four truths, and the twelve links of dependent origination, up to the sublime practices and penetrating clarity, all of which belong to dhyāna absorptions of both phenomena and principle.
