3.53

復次，五門禪定對治四分煩惱，四分煩惱出生八萬四千塵勞，當知五門亦能出八萬四千法門。此而言之，但說五門，則攝一切內善具足。數人所明初賢五停心觀發，與此有相開處。

Furthermore, the five gates of dhyāna-concentration counteract the four parts of defilements, and the four parts of defilements give rise to the eighty-four thousand afflictions. One should know that the five gates can also give rise to eighty-four thousand Dharma gates. In this respect, mentioning only five gates completely subsumes all internal wholesome dharmas. The arising of the five stops of mind for the initial worthies explained by the Abhidharma masters has points of convergence with this.
