答曰：不然。上但通論一心，未是具足分別微細止門之法，此中為令行者善知安心之本，廣明修止淺深麁細入定之相，重說無咎。

Answer: Not so. Above, we merely discussed singleness of mind in general, which was not yet a complete and detailed differentiation of the method of the subtle gate of cessation. Here, in order to enable the practitioner to know well the basis of pacifying the mind, we explain extensively the marks of entering concentration through the shallow and deep, coarse and subtle aspects of cultivating cessation; there is no fault in repeating it.
