3.76

三、明大不淨觀善根發者，亦於欲界、未到定心中，見於內身及外身、一切飛禽走獸、衣服、飲食、山林、樹木皆悉不淨，或見一家、一聚落、一國土，乃至十方，皆悉不淨；或見白骨，乃至見自身白骨光明昱燿等。此為大不淨觀勝處善根發相。此觀發時，能破一切著心。

3. Explaining the arising of the wholesome roots of the great impurity contemplation: within a concentrated mind in the desire realm or the anāgamya stage, one sees the internal body and external bodies, all flying birds and running beasts, clothing, food and drink, mountains, forests, and trees as entirely impure; or one sees a single household, a single village, a single land, and even the ten directions as entirely impure; or one sees white bones, even seeing one's own white bones radiating blazing brilliance, and so forth. These are the signs of the arising of the wholesome roots of the stations of mastery in the great impurity contemplation. When this contemplation arises, it can shatter all minds of attachment.
