4.60

答曰：菩薩戒有明文：「一切男子皆是我父，一切女人皆是我母，而菩薩不起慈悲，行婬無度，不避六親，犯波羅夷罪。」若觀前境男女，皆如父、如母、如子，則自敬愛，心生慈念，能破貪欲，譬如父母，終不於子所生非法心。

Answer: The Bodhisattva Precepts have a clear statement: 'All men are my fathers, all women are my mothers; yet if a bodhisattva does not give rise to loving-kindness and compassion, practices lust without restraint, and does not avoid the six close relatives, they commit a pārājika offense.' If one contemplates the men and women before them as father, mother, and child, one will naturally respect and love them, giving rise in mind to thoughts of loving-kindness, which can destroy lustful desire. Just as with parents, they never give rise to unwholesome thoughts toward their children.
