佛以此偈中，廣明中間禪、二禪相。今明二禪有三義：一者、釋名；二、明修行；三、明證相。

In these verses, the Buddha broadly explains the intermediate dhyāna and the characteristics of the second dhyāna. Now, explaining the second dhyāna has three meanings: first, explaining the name; second, explaining the practice; third, explaining the characteristics of realization.
