三、明體用因果者，如《纓絡經》說二禪四支為因，第五默然心為定體，翻覆明因果體用之義，不異初禪。

Third, explaining essence and function, cause and effect: as the *Yingluo jing* states, the four factors of the second dhyāna are the cause, and the fifth silent mind is the essence of the samādhi. The meaning of explaining cause and effect, essence and function through reciprocal aspects is not different from the first dhyāna.
