Sixth, in the merits, there are also two aspects: first, the merit of detachment from faults; second, the merit of the wholesome mind. Therefore the *Mahāsaṃnipāta Sūtra* says: 'The second dhyāna is also called detachment and is also called endowment. That which is called detachment is detachment from the five hindrances; that which is called endowment means being endowed with the four factors.' If one speaks of detachment from faults, it is detachment from the faults of vitarka and vicāra. As for endowment, it is being fully endowed with faith, reverence, shame, conscience, and so forth, as well as the six wholesome dharmas, arising from the joyful mind of internal purity.
