今此四行偈，具明修證四禪之相。今釋第四禪，開為三意：一、釋名：二、明修習方法；三、明發相。

Now these four gāthā verses fully explain the characteristics of cultivating and realizing the fourth dhyāna. In now explaining the fourth dhyāna, it is divided into three points: first, explaining the name; second, explaining the method of cultivation; third, explaining the characteristics of its manifestation.
