釋禪波羅蜜次第法門 6.12

6.12

答曰：此依義而說，若無漏四禪中說有四無量心，則於義無過。何以故？無漏禪中具諸觀行法門故。若有漏根本禪，說者當知乳中說酪耳。

Answer: This is spoken according to the principle: if within the undefiled four dhyānas it is said that the four immeasurables are present, then it is without fault in principle. Why is this? Because within undefiled dhyāna, all dharma gates of contemplative practice are complete. If spoken regarding defiled fundamental dhyāna, one should know it is merely speaking of curd within milk.
