6.19

答曰：內雖無有喜樂，緣取外喜樂人相而平等與樂。譬如離欲行人，自不須五塵，亦不與塵欲交染，而為大福德故，亦以五欲勝妙樂具給施前人，而於自心無所染污。於四禪中與他喜樂亦復如是。未到、中間類即可解。

Answer: Although internally there is neither prīti nor sukha, one takes external marks of joyful and blissful persons as the condition and gives them bliss impartially. For example, a practitioner who has left desire does not need the five dusts himself, nor is he tainted by sensory desire; yet for the sake of great blessings and virtues, he also bestows the superior and wonderful pleasurable requisites of the five desires upon the other person, while his own mind remains unstained. Giving others joy and bliss within the fourth dhyāna is also like this. Anāgamya and the intermediate dhyāna can be understood by analogy.
