今正明後師竪對三界明真特勝。既上來未說此觀慧方法，今當出修證之相。竪明修十六特勝者：一、知息入；二、知息出。此對代數息也。調息方法，事事如前數息中說。

Now we properly clarify the latter master, who vertically correlates them with the three realms to clarify the true sublime practices. Since this contemplation-wisdom method has not been taught above, we shall now present the characteristics of cultivation and realization. In vertically clarifying the cultivation of the sixteen sublime practices: (1) knowing the breath entering and (2) knowing the breath exiting: these correspond to and substitute for counting breaths. The method of regulating the breath is in every detail as explained earlier under counting breaths.
