次經云「憍陳如！若比丘修習聖道，厭離四禪、四空處，觀於滅莊嚴之道」者，釋曰：此明通觀，於想後得入滅盡也。此義下背捨中當具說。

Next, the sūtra says: "Kauṇḍinya! If a monk cultivates the noble path, disdains the four dhyānas and the four stations of formlessness, and contemplates the path adorned with cessation...". Explanation: This clarifies penetrating contemplation, [wherein] after notions one is able to enter cessation. This meaning will be fully explained below in [the section on] the liberations.
