Once the palaces of the five viscera are formed, the spirit-consciousness has a dwelling. Having a dwelling to rely upon, it requires nourishment. The karmic power of the five precepts further transforms the interior of the body into the spirit-qi of the six entrails; the entrails nourish the five viscera and the entire body. As for the entrails: the gallbladder is the entrail of the liver, storing water as qi and combining to moisten the liver. The small intestine is the entrail of the heart; the heart is red, and the small intestine is also red; the heart governs blood-qi, and the small intestine also communicates blood-qi, mainly moistening the heart and entering the whole body. The large intestine is the entrail of the lungs; the lungs are white, and the large intestine is also white; it mainly breaks down substances to benefit the lungs, completing the transformation of the entire body. The stomach is the entrail of the spleen; the stomach is yellow, and the spleen is also yellow; the stomach also operates in the yellow region, communicating and regulating the spleen, its qi entering the four limbs. The urinary bladder is the entrail of the kidneys; the kidneys' entrail is black, and the bladder is also black; it conducts moisture to moisten the kidneys and facilitates the lower excretion.
