釋禪波羅蜜次第法門 9.17

9.17

行者思惟是已，即取我所愛人，若男若女，脫衣露體，臥置地上，於前如死尸想，一心三昧觀此死尸，心甚驚畏，破愛著心。此則略說死想以為九想前方便也。

After the practitioner contemplates in this way, one then takes a person one loves, whether male or female, stripped naked, laid on the ground, and forms before them the notion of a corpse. With one-pointed samādhi one contemplates this corpse, the mind deeply shocked and terrified, breaking the mind of loving attachment. This briefly explains the notion of death as the preliminary expedient means for the nine notions.
