Furthermore, because painful feeling is in fact suffering, all sentient beings do not desire it; because pleasant feeling accords with one's desires, all sentient beings crave it. If craving and attachment arise, when it decays through impermanence, one then experiences multiple sufferings in the present and subsequently experiences the sufferings of hells, animals, and hungry ghosts. Such various sufferings all arise from seeking pleasure; therefore one knows that pleasure is itself suffering. As for neutral feeling, although in one's feelings one does not sense suffering or pleasure, neither grasping nor rejecting, in actual fact its impermanent transition and affliction also constitute great suffering. When contemplating in this manner, one sees no aspect of pleasure within the three realms to which craving and attachment could arise; disgust and dread arise in the mind; this is called the notion of suffering.
